When summer weather gets really hot, sometimes all you want to do is drink liquids, a lot of liquids! Today the morning weather was almost 20C so I wasn't going to be drinking my usual hot latte.
I discovered this recipe for homemade iced coffee, so I now have a large jug of cold coffee in the fridge. But the ingredient that has made all the difference is sweetened condensed milk - wow, this stuff in iced coffee is perfect!
For price and sugar content, this homemade iced version beats the Tim's Iced Capp - hands down!
INGREDIENTS- serves 1 to 2 people
cold coffee concentrate (I use Pioneer Woman's cold brew method)
Sweetened Condensed Milk
Milk, if you prefer
Start with a large canning jar and fill with ice. Add a splash of milk if you prefer, I usually don't. Fill the rest of the jar with cold coffee. Add 2-3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, depending on how sweet you like it. Stir. It may take quite a bit of stirring to get the sweetened condensed milk to dissolve, this is why I make it in a jar.
