I love how technology is making it so much easier to save money. Zweet is the newest app available for Canadians on your smartphone. It works much the same as Checkout 51.
New coupons are posted every Wednesday, & available for a week. You take a picture of your receipt, mark the items you bought & submit. After you have $20 in your account, you can request a cheque or a credit to your Paypal account.
It looks like there are points awarded with each receipt submitted, but details of how these points work are not yet available.
I have tested this app for a couple days along with a few friends & have some tips to share with you.
1) You need to put in what province your from when you start your account. Make sure you get this right- it's not easy to change if you don't.
2) The first time you submit a receipt, there is a $2 coupon, make sure you check the box. You will not automatically be credited for this if you don't.
3) This is a very new app & uploading receipts may take a couple minutes. Be patient- I'm sure they're working out the kinks.
I submitted a receipt claiming the apples, Robin Hood Flour & the $2 first time coupon. Within 12 hours I had $3.50 added to my account. I was also awarded 10 points.
Zweet is currently available for iPhone, iPod & iPad. I'm sure Android will be added soon, as most coupon apps work in that order.
